Drive Thru Showcase 2020

Like many community events at this time, the annual AMPLIFY Youth Showcase was challenged to pivot and transform. In an effort to celebrate in the safest way possible, we hosted our first ever Drive Thru Showcase in the Story Road parking lot on June 20th, 2020.
AMPLIFY staff prepped for weeks, gathering old artwork, program certificates, community resources to share, and snacks (of course) to distribute on the day of the Drive Thru. Each youth participant received a personal goodie bag with affirmations, notes, and photos to commemorate their time in the program. Our high school graduates also received handmade candy leis to celebrate their academic accomplishments!
During the Drive Thru, parents (and youth with drivers licenses!) drove through our parking lot in an orderly fashion. They first picked up their goodie bags and snack bags, then left us notes at the affirmations stations, and finally stopped by our photo backdrop for a socially distant photo opp.
Even though we couldn’t celebrate in normal showcase-style, we were so happy to see all the youth and families for a moment last month. We hope you’re having a great summer so far, show us your art with #amplifydraws100 !
